REFEREEING SOCCER CAN BE:

REFEREEING FOR COMMUNITY (TIER 4) SOCCER – EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

There are two ways you can qualify to be a referee in Alberta:

  1. Mini Referee: U10 or younger soccer. Anyone 12 years of age, or older (on or before May 15th) can sign up to take a ‘Mini Referee’ course. The course covers referee duties and responsibilities, the rules, and includes on the field practical training.
  2. Entry Level Referee: U12 or older soccer. Anyone 14 years of age, or older (on or before May 15th) can sign up to take an ‘Entry Level Referee’ course. The course covers referee and assistant referee duties and responsibilities, the FIFA Laws of the Game (11v11 soccer), U12 8v8 Rules of the Game, and includes on the field practical training.
